I’ve bought the programs before. After they arrive I tear into them only to find them filled with binders, cd’s and manuals and after I nod off to sleep reading them, I shelve them and they start to collect dust. Just like the rest of the ‘How to’ programs I magically wished these binders and cd’s would change my practice or make me a better marketer of my chiropractic practice. But I found that wishful thinking and lack of storage space never changed anything.

The key component to the GOING TO CASH program is ME and my 12 years of cash practice experience.
When I graduated from Palmer I’d done my research (and soul-searching). I knew that doing a lot of paperwork and meeting PPO requirements was not my ideal way to run a practice. So I started right out of the gate with my cash practice. If I told you it was smooth sailing I’d be a liar. There were a bumps along the way. I’d use the wrong words with patients and they wouldn’t understand our cash procedure and get mad. I’d train my front desk staff but they’d still take the insurance card when a new patient offered it to them. I figured it out as I went because there was no-one coaching on it at the time.
I didn’t fail and I didn’t go broke. See that’s what most doctors think will happen if they give up their dependence on insurance. But it’s not true. You can thrive running your office as a cash practice if you’ve built the right foundation.
The GOING TO CASH program is a coaching program that coordinates and supports your practices transition to cash. Step by step instruction and support, customized for your office and your situation. Here is how we do it:
First we connect and see if your situation is a good fit for the program. By clicking here you’ll be letting me you want me to contact you. I can’t accept everyone into the program because sometimes it’s just not the right fit and because I need time to sleep.
If we decide to move forward here’s what happens in the next 12 months:
The before stage is where we build the foundation for you to succeed in your new cash practice. No building stands for long without a solid foundation. Without the right pieces for the foundation the building crumbles quickly. The first thing you and I will do is have a detailed phone conversation about your practice and about your situation. To customize this program I need to know how you run your office and where you want your office to go. We’ll talk time fame. Some doctors like to transition slowly and some like what I call the ‘BANDAID’ approach. Just rip it right off, get right to it and transition ASAP. I’ll work with whatever you and your office are comfortable with.
Then for the first 1-3 months we are going to be busy and we’ll be talking regularly. We’ll start with how you and your staff are going to talk to your patients about the transition. THIS IS WHERE MANY OFFICES SABOTAGE THEMSELVES. They shout Bingo before they have all the numbers dabbed. If you don’t have a plan in place first then yes, you’ll lose 50% or more of your patients. Crash and burn. Your worst nightmare will come true. But you and I are working on foundation so you don’t need to get out the fire extinguisher. I’ll give you the plan and tell you how to execute it so your transition is seamless. We’ll address the best way to un-PPO and un-HMO your practice. I’ll also be talking with your staff as well making sure your front desk is on top of and supporting your changes. You will also have access to me via email for any questions that may come up.
The next stage happens during your transition, right when you start letting patients know about your new procedures. This is where the rubber meets the road. It’s the most critical point in the whole process. You’ll either fly or fall. I’ve seen it happen in a lot of offices that tried to transition without building the foundation beforehand. But you’ve already built a solid foundation so your transition flies right through this stage. When you start the transition I’ll be there to support you and run offense if you have questions or need that extra nudge.
After you have transitioned to cash there are still things that come up. Patients have particular questions that your not quite sure how to answer, staff have questions or need some extra training, you have questions about charging patients certain procedures. You won’t have to ‘make anything up.’ I won’t leave you alone. This is a 12 month program. The first 1-6 months are the Before and During stages but you’ll still have access to me for another 6 months. I’ll jump on the phone and assist you anyway I can. I’ll promptly reply to emails. My committment to you is for 12 months. I want you to succeed and thrive.
Now some people like to have things in their hands. Something tangible. So I have written a book and created a DVD that I’ll send you as part of the GOING TO CASH coaching program. And I’m going to give you a specific CASH PRACTICE notebook. Cheesy? Maybe but if you are like me I write things down on sticky notes and loose them. The notebook is specifically for you to write down what we talk about. You’ll write your questions and my answers in it. You’ll write down the plan we create. You’ll use it for staff questions and tricky patient questions. It will hold your foundation and assist you in all 3 stages. Cheesy? Maybe but necessary to stay on task.
